  1. 1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2.Generously butter a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. 3.In a mixing bowl, combine shredded phyllo dough with melted butter until well incorporated.
  4. 4.Press half of the phyllo mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish.
  5. 5.Mix mozzarella and ricotta cheese together and spread evenly over the phyllo base.
  6. 6.Cover with the remaining phyllo dough, pressing lightly.
  7. 7.Bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  8. 8.While baking, prepare syrup by boiling sugar, water, and lemon juice. Remove from heat and stir in rose water.
  9. 9.Pour the hot syrup over the hot knafeh as soon as it comes out of the oven.
  10. 10.Allow to cool slightly before sprinkling with crushed pistachios.
  11. 11.Serve warm and enjoy the melt-in-your-mouth goodness!
