- 1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2.Generously butter a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- 3.In a mixing bowl, combine shredded phyllo dough with melted butter until well incorporated.
- 4.Press half of the phyllo mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- 5.Mix mozzarella and ricotta cheese together and spread evenly over the phyllo base.
- 6.Cover with the remaining phyllo dough, pressing lightly.
- 7.Bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- 8.While baking, prepare syrup by boiling sugar, water, and lemon juice. Remove from heat and stir in rose water.
- 9.Pour the hot syrup over the hot knafeh as soon as it comes out of the oven.
- 10.Allow to cool slightly before sprinkling with crushed pistachios.
- 11.Serve warm and enjoy the melt-in-your-mouth goodness!
