  1. 1.Preheat your oven to 300°F.
  2. 2.In a large Dutch oven, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Add the brisket and sear it on all sides until it's browned. Remove the brisket from the pot and set it aside.
  3. 3.Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. 4.Return the brisket to the pot and spoon the sauce over the top. Cover the pot with a lid and transfer it to the oven. Cook for 6 hours, or until the brisket is very tender.
  5. 5.Remove the pot from the oven and let the brisket rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
