- 1.Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- 2.Add the asparagus and broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the asparagus is very tender.
- 3.Use an immersion blender or transfer the soup to a blender and blend until smooth.
- 4.Stir in the cream and lemon juice and season with salt and pepper to taste.
